Who is responsible

What the form collects

The contact form asks for a name, an email address, a subject drawn from a fixed list, a message and a consent tick. Nothing else is requested, and no field is filled in automatically on your behalf.

Why, and on what basis

We use what you send only to read your message and reply to it, and to check or correct what we have published. The basis is your consent, given by ticking the box, together with our legitimate interest in maintaining an accurate editorial record.

How long we keep it

Correspondence is kept while the matter is open and for up to twenty-four months afterwards, so that we can trace why an entry was changed. After that it is deleted. You may ask us to delete it sooner.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard technical data for each request, including an IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and the browser identification. These logs exist for security and for keeping the site running, and are held for a short period before deletion.

No tracking of any kind

There is no analytics on this site. There are no trackers, no advertising pixels, no third-party cookies and no cookies of our own. Nothing is written to your browser storage. The single script on the site opens and closes the navigation menu and does nothing else.

Fonts and hosting

Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those files from Google's servers and Google receives the technical data any web request carries. The site itself is hosted by our hosting provider, which processes data on our instructions under a written agreement.

International transfer

Because hosting and font delivery may take place outside your country, your data may be transferred across borders. Where that happens, it is done on the basis of the safeguards recognised by applicable data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You may ask for access to the data we hold about you, for its correction or deletion, for a restriction on its processing, or for a copy in portable form. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time, which does not affect processing already carried out.

Complaints

If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you may complain to the data protection supervisory authority for the country where you live or work, whichever applies to you.
